Climate change resilience and environment

The AIIKS will promote research, human capital development, knowledge brokerage and community engagement to enhance knowledge and awareness in the contribution of AIKS to climate change resilience, information service and environmental health. Africa’s richness in biodiversity has provided opportunities for IK holders and practitioners and other stakeholders in Climate Information Service (CIS) to create knowledge systems on how to bond with nature for sustainability. The Institute will build partnerships with policy makers, development agencies and other stakeholders, in both public and private sectors, to support development of AIKS-based climate change adaptation platforms, including the role gender, indigenous languages and spirituality.
