Democracy, governance and leadership

Former African Heads of State and Government who left office democratically and other leaders have accumulated a lot of lived experience and knowledge in democracy, leadership and governance, which needs to be harnessed and shared across generations and successive political leadership on the continent, especially with the African youth. This is in line with the African indigenous worldview and leadership ethos of learning from the past to build a better future. The Institute will facilitate intergenerational dialogues between the youth and elders, by providing mechanisms for the leaders to share their lived experiences and knowledge, individually and collectively, through memoires, repositories, publications, speaking engagements and other fora 9 for the development of the young thought leaders, who are able and committed to defend and promote the interests of Africa in the global economy.
